Auburn Chamber Reports Counterfeit $50

AUBURN – The Auburn Chamber of Commerce issued a warning Thursday regarding counterfeit bills. Chamber Director Tonia Greiner said her office has been notified that counterfeit money has been used at local businesses. She said a counterfeit $50 bill was turned in and the bank reported that it was difficult to detect. Greiner said the people who made the purchase were from out of state and said they were going to Omaha before coming back through town. She urges retailers to take precautions to avoid receiving counterfeit money.
