Arraignment Friday for Man who Had Drugs Mailed to Jail

COLUMBUS - A Columbus man who had drugs and porn mailed to him at jail, is to be arraigned in District Court on Friday. A case that dates back to February and involves drugs and a pornographic image being mailed to a jail, is coming closer to a conclusion. 20-year-old Ethan Vesely is set to be arraigned in District Court at 10:00 a.m. on an attempt of a class 2A felony charge. Vesely was arrested back in February of 2017, when a letter containing meth, a drug called Vyvanse, and a pornographic image, was mailed to the jail by, 18-year-old Rachel Hayward, says an arrest affidavit. Court records say police later found nine more letters that Vesely had mailed to Hayward, asking for the various items. [caption id="attachment_1148101" align="alignleft" width="300"] courtesy PCDC[/caption] Vesely was released from the Platte County Jail on February 19th, and then was immediately arrested on the new charges. Hayward pled no contest, and was found guilty, of attempted delivery of meth. A class 3A felony, that carries a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison.
