ARNOLD—“Don’t forget yer paddle” at the eighth annual Arnold River Battle! Teams of kayaks and canoes will be racing down the South Loup River on Saturday, July 21. Registration and lunch will take place starting at 12 p.m. at the Hidden Valley Campground in between Callaway and Arnold (click here for directions).

Paddles hit the water at 1:30 p.m. Day-of registration is $30 per competitor.

“It’s a race. Some of them (contestants) go down just leisurely and take their time but then we have others that actually battle it out at the end and race as fast as they can to see who can cross the finish line first,” Michelle Preston said.
