Area teams have strong presence in OWH top ten

As the regular season concludes this week in Nebraska state high school football, area teams continue to have a strong presence in the latest top ten rankings put out this week by the Omaha World Herald. In Class C1, the Gothenburg Swedes enter the top ten at #10 following their upset win over Kearney Catholic last Friday. The Swedes are 6-2 and will conclude the regular this week by hosting Minden. Arcadia/Loup City improved to 8-0 last Friday with a win over Central City. The Rebels are ranked #5 in Class C2 and will conclude the regular season on the road at Filmore Central. South Loup is 7-0 and ranked #3 this week in Class D1. The Bobcats will face 8th rated Elm Creek on Friday night in a game that will determine the D1-8 district championship. The game will be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com. Twin Loup is rated #2 in Class D2. The undefeated Wolves concluded their regular season last Friday with a 54-12 win over Central Valley and now prepare for a playoff run. Also in D2, the Mullen Broncos are undefeated and ranked #6. Mullen will be on the road this week as they conclude the regular season at Leyton. Top rated teams in each class this week include : Class A – Omaha North ; Class B – Elkhorn South ; Class C1 – Norfolk Catholic ; Class C2 – Centennial ; Class D1 – Creighton ; Class D2 – BDS ; Six man – Riverside
