Area Pools Preparing for the 2021 Season
Broken Bow Swimming Pool

BROKEN BOW—The Broken Bow Aquatic Center will open Tuesday, June 1 at 12:30 p.m. according to Pool Manager Laurie French.

Pool Hours:
Monday- Friday
12:30 p.m.-5 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m.
Adult swim: 5-6:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:
1 p.m.-7 p.m. (No adult swim time)

Admission:
Season Passes:
$95.00 per family
$45.00 single pass
$3.00 daily pass
$20.00 punch card

Red Cross Swimming Lessons will begin on a Wednesday and
end on the following Tuesday. Sessions last for five days.

Session 1 June 9-15
Session 2 June 23-29
Session 3 July 7-13

Times:
Preschool: (For 4 & 5 yr olds) 5:45-6:15 p.m.
Level 1 (Must be going into kindergarten) 5:05-5:35 p.m.
Level 2 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m.
Level 3 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Level 4 & 5- 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

Cost: $20.00 with season pass/$30.00 without a season pass. You may begin to register beginning on Thursday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. Please come to the pool and pay at the time you register. The Broken Bow Pool greatly thank the Salvation Army for helping provide lessons at a lower cost via the grant the pool received.

Private Lessons are arranged between parents and the instructors. Fees for private lessons are $95.00 per student for 5 lessons.

Please call the pool office, 308-872-5177 beginning May 27 for more information. The office (1053 Laurel Dr. Broken Bow, NE 68822) will be open Thursday, May 27 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, May 28 12 to 4 p.m. for patrons to get season passes.

French told KCNI/KBBN she has worked for the pool in some capacity since the year 2000, served as manager for the last six years, and has been training lifeguards since 2006.

Other Custer County pools are also planning to open for the 2021 season.

Ansley Swimming Pool 409 Nile Street: Village Clerk Lanette Doan told KCNI/KBBN the pool will be filled this week followed by other maintenance work. She said the pool will hopefully be open early June. Red Cross swimming lessons will also be available.  Open 1-5 p.m. Call (308) 935-1871.

Arnold Swimming Pool 200 S. Broadway: Village Superintendent Doug DeLaune told KCNI/KBBN the Arnold pool will be opening tentatively on Memorial Day (May 31) depending on maintenance and the weather. Open seven days a week until mid-August from 1–5 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. except on Saturdays. Adult swim time is at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Babies swim free in the baby pool. Don’t forget to sign up the youngsters for public or private lessons.

Callaway Swimming Pool 301 E Pacific St: According to Pool Manager Brenner Beavers, the pool is being cleaned out and worked on following some storm damage. Beavers told KCNI/KBBN he hopes the pool will be open Memorial Day Weekend but to check the Facebook page for more information. Pool hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. for open swim. Water aerobics 12-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. Occasional night swim activities.

Sargent Swimming Pool 103 S. Hwy 183: City Administrator Reece Jensen told KCNI/KBBN the Sargent pool will most likely open the weekend after Memorial Day with pool hours from 12 to 8 p.m.
