COLUMBUS - Travel could be dangerous around the Columbus area, as highways are coated in ice Tuesday morning. The Nebraska Department of Transportation says all of the highways surrounding the Columbus, Humphrey, Albion, Neman Grove, St. Edward, Fullerton, Genoa, Schuyler and Clarkson areas, are completely covered in ice.  Highways surrounding the David City, Rising City, North Bend, Brainard, Snyder, Valparaiso, and Fremont areas were considered partially covered in ice as of 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, but are expected to worsen. Motorists should plan for slower traffic, during the morning commute on Tuesday, and should expect slick conditions inside and outside of city limits.
