The Arcadia-Loup City Rebels saw its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Class C2 state playoffs. ALC was defeated by Lincoln Lutheran 21-12. Lincoln Lutheran’s defense was able to hold the potent ALC running attack to 78 yards rushing for the game. Lincoln Lutheran led 14-0 at the half but the Rebels would fight back in the 2nd. With 3:23 to go in the third quarter, ALC quarterback Macrae Maschka would score on a 5 yd TD run to make the score 14-6 but the 2 point conversion would fail. Lincoln Lutheran would respond with a 71 yd. TD drive to increase their lead to 21-6. With 8:21 left in the 4th quarter, Tige Calleroz would score on a 4 yd. TD run but again the 2 point try would fail and ALC continued to trail by 2 scores at 21-12. The Rebels would not be able to cross the goal line again as Lincoln Lutheran held on for the victory. Macrae Maschka finished with 101 yards passing and 49 yards rushing for the Rebels and Nolan Baker had 5 catches for 70 yards. ALC ends the season at 10-1. Lincoln Lutheran advances to the semifinals where they will meet Centennial who defeated Central City 26-16. In the other C2 quarterfinals, Battle Creek upset the top seed Ponca 24-20 and will now face Yutan in the semifinals. Yutan held off Valentine 20-7.
