AppleJack Accidents Involve School Bus and Boat

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City police responded to three accidents over the AppleJack weekend. A four-door Nissan pickup was hit while parked on Central Avenue on Friday and a parked Chevrolet Malibu parked on First Avenue was hit by an International bus driven by a Johnson County Central employee. Police say the bus was being directed to go the wrong way on a one-way street to access a parking lot on Fourth Street. On Sunday, a 41-year-old Nebraska City man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Police say the man was driving a Cadillac SUV pulling a boat on a trailer when the trailer scraped against a parked Chevrolet Lumina owned by a Nebraska City woman. Police say the driver of the Cadillac left the scene near Fourth Avenue and 18th Street, but was found by police a short distance away.
