He’d help anybody out if he could, but right now he’s needing a little help.

ANSLEY--A Burger Bash benefit fundraiser for Steve Krause, who is battling a brain tumor, will be held on Sunday, July 30th, at the Ansley Community Building, from 1:00-4:00 pm. A free will donation will be taken. South Loup Sunrise will provide the entertainment and a silent auction will be held as well. Randy Cherry and his brothers Steve, Pat, and Mike and their mother Norma are putting together this benefit event for longtime family friend Steve Krause. Krause, who has two grown sons (Scott and Tim), was diagnosed with glioblastoma (an active and malignant brain tumor) in April of this year and has since been dealing with chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Randy Cherry said Steve Krause is currently in ICU in Kearney and is battling masses on his liver and pancreas and blood clots in his lungs. According to Cherry, any and all donations are accepted for the benefit lunch as well as prayers for the family. Cherry is a farmer and rancher in Sargent and says he and his family are happy to pitch in and try to help 67-year-old Krause. “Come on down, it’s for a good cause, it’s for a very nice fella. He’d help anybody out if he could, but right now he’s needing a little help,” Cherry said. The Sunday afternoon event will feature a silent auction and music, burgers, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans, cookies and brownies for a free-will donation. All are welcome to enjoy a meal and contribute to the Krause family this Sunday from 1-4 pm at the Ansley community building at 720 Douglas Street.
