In games broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM Tuesday night, Anselmo-Merna swept a doubleheader from SEM in girls and boys basketball. The Anselmo-Merna girls improved to 7-5 on the season with a 48-28 victory. The Lady Coyotes used an 11-0 run in the first half to help build a ten point lead at half. AM connected on 8 3’s in the game including 4 from Kourtney Safranek who led all scorers with 16 points. SEM was led by Sara Ripp who finished with a team high 11.
The Anselmo-Merna boys hit 10 3’s on the night in a 69-45 win over SEM. AM had 3 players finish in double figures. The Coyotes were led by Seth Miller who had 15 while Jace Leibhart and Ryan Cooksley each finished with 12. SEM was led by freshman Carson Rohde who had a game high 18 and Kevin Boteo finished with 17. With the win, AM improves to 7-5 on the season.
