BROKEN BOW–After more than 25% of employees were furloughed at Becton Dickinson (BD) in Broken Bow earlier this month, an additional 60 roles have also been furloughed. The total number of employees on furlough now comes to 220 out of nearly 600 employees.

According to Senior Director of Public Relations at BD, Troy Kirkpatrick, all furloughs will extend through the end of July. He also said employees will keep their health benefits with the company but also qualify for unemployment benefits.

“As a reminder, these are not layoffs. Furloughed employees remain employees of the company and keep their health benefits with the company paying for 100% of both the employer and employees costs for insurance premiums,” Kirkpatrick told KCNI/KBBN.

Kirkpatrick added, “we look forward to welcoming back all of our employees after the furloughs conclude.”
