Anselmo-Merna FFA member Sam McMillan recently won the District 8 FFA Natural Resources Speaking Contest with his presentation titled “Blowouts, Friend or Foe”. The 6-8 minute illustrated presentation was developed using experiences he has gained on his family’s ranch north of Milburn, NE. This year the FFA Leadership Development Events (LDEs) for District 8 were held at the high school in Amherst, NE.
These LDEs were organized by the Nebraska FFA Association, students in agricultural education competed in a variety of events that sharpen their skills as they explore and experience careers in agriculture. Sam is a junior at A-M and serves as the chapter’s Vice President. He won a plaque and medal and also qualifies for the state Natural Resources Speaking competition to be held during the Nebraska State FFA Convention April 6-8, 2022 in Lincoln, NE.
Chancy Hoblyn-Bittner, an Ansley FFA member took second place and also qualifies for the state competition in Lincoln.
