A Look at Elkhorn Valley Schools Improved Facilities

TILDEN- Renovations at Elkhorn Valley Schools are continuing to progress. All classes for seventh to twelfth graders are in the new and improved facility. Construction crews demolished the outdated 7-12 wing building. Increased enrollment played a role in the expansion. Students have a new gym, wrestling room, commons area, weight room, and cafeteria. In addition, the school included an agriculture program to their curriculum. A new preschool and kindergarten building, along with a weight room is still underway. Completion of the entire project will not be until mid-fall. At that time, preschool and kindergarten students will move into the new wing. Superintendent Keith Leckron says prior to renovation, it was still a functioning school but had some issues with the infrastructure such as poor air quality and more importantly school safety. Leckron says that it wasn't the most secure school with two outbuildings for 7-12 grade classes where students would have to walk outside between lunch. Leckron thanks the district patrons that voted to enhance Tilden and Meadow Grove by making the school a better place for students to attend.
