8-Man Players To Watch

The Grand Island Independent released Part 4 of their series on the ‘Top Prep 8-Man Football Players for 2017’ and it featured a few Custer County Athletes.

Jack Rush, a South Loup quarterback, was featured after posting 1,183 passing yard and 839 rushing yards to go along with 36 total touchdowns last season.
Riggin Anderson, a running back from Sandhills-Thedford, also made the list.  His statline from 2016 features 581 yards rushing and 9 total touchdowns.  However, most of the hype surround Anderson comes from his 1,000+ rushing yard campaign his sophomore year due to the fact that his junior year was cut short by injury.
Hunter Krause, a tight end, linebacker and kicker for Twin Loup, is also on featured as a player to watch.  Krause recorded 92 tackles, 2 receiving touchdowns, and made 31 PATs as he helped Twin Loup finish second in the state last season.
