Area Firefighters and Emergency Responders Gather for Appreciation Event

Central Nebraska’s News Source continues its series of stories related to fundraising efforts and demonstrations of appreciation for area volunteer firefighters and emergency responders.  The overall dry and windy conditions of the year thus far have created an environment for enhanced fire danger especially through the months of March and April.  This has put a strain on area volunteer firefighters and emergency responders as they have teamed to fight fires across our area.  Several communities and organizations have shown their gratitude to these volunteers through fundraising and/or appreciation events.  One such event of appreciation that took place this past Sunday was an appreciation Bar B Q and meal at Kinkaider Brewing Co. for area volunteer firefighters, emergency responders, and their families.  General manager of Kinkaider Brewing Co. Aubrey Brown said the event was a cooperative effort between Kinkaider and Nebraska State Bank as a way of saying thank you.

Brown estimated that over 150 people were served.  The band Victory Underground donated their time and performed for those in attendance.  Brown said that all who attended appeared to relax and have an enjoyable time.
