NORTH PLATTE–Talented young people from 16 Nebraska schools have the chance to show off their artwork at this year’s Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) Art Competition. This year’s show is held in North Platte in conjunction with the MNAC basketball tournament.

Thousands of pieces of artwork will be on display tonight and tomorrow from 1 to 8 p.m. at Mid-Plains Community College South Campus (601 W State Farm Rd, North Platte, NE 69101). The show is free and open to the public.

Artwork created by junior high students will be labeled with orange tags and senior high projects will be labeled with white tags.

Ansley art teacher Kalla Sawyer said students in central Nebraska create art throughout the year and work hard to have their projects displayed at the MNAC art show, which consists of 14 different categories.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to see all the hard work these kids have accomplished in just one year. It [the art show] lets them showcase their talent,” Sawyer said.
