11 Year-Old Taken To Hospital By Ambulance After Falling From Horse At Custer County Fair

An 11 year-old girl was taken to the hospital by an ambulance on Wednesday, July 31 after falling from her horse during the Custer County Fair. According to scanner traffic, the call for an ambulance came in a little before 2 PM after it was reported that the girl had fallen from her horse and landed on her back.

The girl was taken to Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center for mid-to-lower back pain as well as complaints of a headache. Her condition is unknown at this time.

According to the Custer County Fair calendar, the only horse event scheduled  began in the morning at 8 AM with ranch riding, western riding, reining, goat tying, barrels, and poles.
