Weather alters Nebraska baseball, softball schedules for this weekend

The Nebraska baseball and softball teams had to alter their weekend schedules due to weather.

Husker baseball will now play a doubleheader Friday in Lincoln against Iowa beginning at 2 p.m. The series finale will be played either Saturday or Sunday, depending on weather. The date and time for that game will be decided later this week. Each game will air on KNCY 1600 AM, 105.5 FM in Nebraska City.

NU, which defeated Kansas State on Tuesday, enters the weekend 11th in the Big Ten with a 2-6 conference record. Iowa is sixth at 5-3 in the Big Ten.

Husker softball will also play a doubleheader Friday at home against Purdue, beginning at 3 p.m. That series finale will also be played either Saturday or Sunday with a decision coming later this week.

After splitting a Tuesday doubleheader with Iowa, Nebraska is currently tied for seventh in the Big Ten with a 6-5 conference record. Purdue is 3-6 in the Big Ten.

Additionally, The World’s Largest Softball Tailgate, scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled. Fans are instead encouraged to attend Fan Appreciation Weekend on April 27-29.
