Tom Osborne was at the sold-out Nebraska spring game last weekend. He fully understands the level of energy that’s been restored to the Husker football program by Scott Frost.
Osborne joined “The Bottom Line” on Tuesday to discuss why a “real wave of enthusiasm and hope” has washed over Nebraska.
“Scott was a great player here, and people think he understands what has to go into this situation,” Osborne said. “Then of course his success at Central Florida was borderline miraculous — probably not even borderline, it was miraculous. The thing I hope people understand is that was probably a once-in-a-lifetime thing, to go from 0-12 to 13-0. Probably will never be done again. But the fact he had that kind of success that quickly has really spurred people to understand this guy’s got unusual talent and a very good coaching staff.”
Osborne covered a wide range of topics during a nearly 20-minute interview. He talked about persuading Frost to return to Nebraska, his impression of the Huskers’ talent level and Frost’s offensive system. He even shared his thoughts on Darin Erstad and the NU baseball program.
