Sixth-inning rally moves Husker softball past Georgia Tech

ATLANTA — Nebraska bounced back from a 3-0 deficit in the first inning with six runs in the top of the sixth en route to a 7-3 victory over host Georgia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Huskers starter Sydney McLeod walked three, gave up a home run and three runs while getting just two outs before freshman Olivia Ferrell came in to pitch 4.1 innings of two-hit ball. Senior Kaylan Jablonski earned her third save of the season, retiring the Yellow Jackets last six batters on just 17 pitches.

Nebraska’s six-run second inning was helped by three Georgia Tech errors, along with a two-RBI double to center field by Tristen Edwards. Taylor Otte led off the seventh with a home run to left field, and Jablonski had a two-out triple to center field.

The 8-1 Huskers will play Boston College Sunday at 9 a.m. in their final game of the challenge.
