Seniors Williams and Dismuke to Return for Nebraska

Nebraska football’s defense received a major boost Wednesday as senior safeties Deontai Williams and Marquel Dismuke announced that they will return next season for the Huskers. Both are taking advantage of the pandemic-related eligibility freeze and will stay with the Big Red for another year. Dismuke was All Big Ten honorable mention this past season and ranked fourth on the team in tackles (47) and set a career high in pass breakups with four. Dismuke has started 20 consecutive games for Nebraska including all eight last season.

Williams announced on social media Wednesday that he has “unfinished business”. The 6’1″ 205 pounder was All Big Ten honorable mention in 2020 and finished with a career high 51 tackles and four pass breakups. His strip sack that recovered and returned for a touchdown was a turning point and key play in Nebraska’s win over Penn State.

Nebraska’s secondary looks to be strong next season as junior cornerback Cam Taylor Britt announced earlier that he to would be returning for another year rather than entering the NFL draft.
