Dachon Burke has chosen to transfer to Nebraska from Robert Morris.

Burke announced his decision Thursday while in Lincoln on an official visit. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility after sitting out next year due to transfer rules.

“In life you make decisions that sometimes no one understands but you,” Burke wrote in a social media post. “I came from nothing and never got handed anything in life. With that being said, I would like to thank all the coaches and schools who reached out to me and recruited me, but I’ve decided to commit to the University of Nebraska.”

The sophomore guard from Orange, New Jersey, had a breakout year at Robert Morris, earning second-team All-Northeast Conference.

He averaged 17.6 points — a 10-point increase over his freshman year — along with 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.1 steals. He shot 45.9 percent overall and 33.8 percent on 3-pointers.

Burke, who was fourth in the conference in scoring and first in steals, also was a candidate for defensive player of the year. Robert Morris finished 16-17 overall and 9-9 in the league.

Burke chose the Huskers over schools like Pitt, Arizona, Marquette, Wichita State, St. John’s and Miami.

Nebraska will have two scholarships remaining after adding Burke.
