Possible Men’s Basketball Tournament Coming to Lincoln in November

The Omaha World Herald is reporting that the Nebraska men’s basketball team is hoping to be part of a tournament held in Lincoln with as many as 16 teams competing in late November and early December. The Huskers were previously scheduled to play in the Myrtle Beach Invitational which has been moved to Orlando. The news of the Lincoln tournament was initially reported by CBS Sports. Although the tournament would take place in Lincoln, the article states that an event planner would have oversight of the event. The tournament would start around November 25th, the first day men’s teams can start playing. Games could potentially be played at both Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Devaney Center. The teams involved, according to a source, would largely involve Midwestern teams including teams from power conferences and mid major programs. Adjustments to schedules are being made amid the coronavirus pandemic which has forced the NCAA and basketball programs to make considerable adjustments. According to the OWH, the planning and overall situation for the tournament remains fluid.
