New Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos hopes to meet with Husker football coach Mike Riley, possibly this week, as he evaluates the program. Riley is 19-15 in his third season at the helm.

“And try to feel out what he is thinking in regards to his staff, his recruiting philosophy and even his offense, defense and entire approach”, said Moos. “Are there players in place to fit the offensive plan and defensive scheme that Mike likes to run?”

The Huskers take a 4-4 record into Saturday’s game at home against Northwestern and Moos ultimately will need to decide if Riley gets a fourth year or if a change is needed.

“I am a pretty good judge of those things”, added Moos. “Having been involved with major college football most of my life since I was 18 years old.”

Unlike his previous stop at Washington State Moos says the facilities and branding are in place at Nebraska.
