LINCOLN, Neb. – On Monday, details of new Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost’s contract were obtained by 1011 News.
According to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the new head coach and Athletic Director Bill Moos, Frost will receive $5 million annually for seven years, with the contract expiring on Dec. 31, 2024.
If Frost is terminated during the contract, he will receive $2.5 million a year for each remaining year of the contract, the MOU states.
The contract is full of incentives, as well, including additional money for winning or tying for a division championship, appearing in a conference championship, and $300,000 for winning a conference championship.
In addition, he would earn $350,000 for a championship game appearance, and $650,000 for winning a national championship.
According to the MOU, up to $5 million is available for 10 assistant coaches and the head strength and conditioning coach, with up to a 2-year term for each.
Incentives, based on the percentage of each assistant coache’s salary, are paid based on accomplishments.
