Nebraska senior Mikaela Foecke and sophomore Lauren Stivrins received first-team All-America honors Wednesday from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

This is the second time Foecke has been named an All-American. She was a second-team selection last season. Foecke and Stivrins were both first-team All-Big Ten selections this season.

Foecke has a team-best 468 kills this season and also leads the Huskers with 43 service aces. The MVP of the Minneapolis regional had a combined 30 kills in the two victories last weekend against Kentucky and Oregon, leading the Huskers to the Final Four for the fourth time in her career.

Foecke also was named Wednesday as the 2018 Senior CLASS Award winner in college volleyball. The award honors athletes who excel in classroom, community, character and competition. Foecke is the first Husker to win it since Gina Mancuso in 2012.

Stivrins leads Husker hitters with a .409 hitting percentage. Her 287 kills rank third on the team and her 150 blocks rank second. Stivrins was a member of the All-Big Ten Freshman team last season.

Senior libero Kenzie Maloney was also named a third-team All-American on Wednesday. Freshman setter Nicklin Hames received honorable mention.
