Nebraska wrestling rallies for victory over Northwestern

LINCOLN — Nebraska won the final six matches to rally for a 26-14 Big Ten dual win over Northwestern Sunday afternoon at the Devaney Center.

Northwestern led 14-4 after four matches, but the dual turned when Nebraska’s Tyler Berger, ranked fourth nationally, handed second-ranked Ryan Deakin his first loss of the season with a 6-3 decision at 157 pounds. The match was tied 2-2 before Berger recorded two takedowns in the final 50 seconds.

Nebraska also got bonus-point wins from CJ Red (141), Isaiah White (165), Mikey Labriola (174) and Taylor Venz (184).

Nebraska returns to action Saturday at 7 p.m. at home against Northern Iowa.
