LINCOLN — The Nebraska women added a graduate transfer and removed three players from their active roster for the upcoming season.
Kristian Hudson, a three-year starter for Florida International, will join the Huskers for her senior season. She averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists last year for FIU, which went 8-21.
“We are excited to add Kristian to our Husker family,” coach Amy Williams said. “Her experience, coupled with her enthusiasm to help us raise the bar for our program, make her the perfect fit.”
Senior Darrien Washington and juniors Rachel Blackburn and Bria Stallworth will maintain their scholarships but won’t be on the active roster for 2018-19.
Blackburn battled chronic knee pain throughout her Husker career, even redshirting one season — Williams’ first — to deal with it. She averaged 1.5 points and 1.9 rebounds. Washington averaged 1.3 points and 2.2 rebounds. Stallworth, a Massachusetts transfer, was expected to compete for the starting point guard job last season. But she shot 34.2 percent from the floor and 31.4 percent from 3-point range while averaging 13 minutes per game.
Nebraska, which has 11 players on its active roster for the upcoming season, started offseason conditioning this month.
