Nebraska Volleyball Coach John Cook Visits with Media

Nebraska Volleyball head coach John Cook visited with the media during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.  The Huskers are 12-2 this season and coming off a series sweep of Iowa last week.  With Nebraska’s win over Iowa last Saturday, John Cook collected his 600th career match win at Nebraska, giving him a 600-83 (.878) record in 21 years as Nebraska’s head coach.  Cook was asked during the press conference his thoughts on declaring a big ten champion this season under the current circumstances especially with some matches having to be cancelled because of COVID protocols and issues.

 

Nebraska will travel to Michigan to meet the Wolverines this week.  Games are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.  Michigan is 4-5 and currently sits 7th in the conference standings.  The Wolverines rank 1st in the conference in assists averaging 13.19 assists per set which is just ahead of Nebraska who is averaging 12.9 assists per set.  Coach Cook talked about the matchup this week with Michigan.

 

 

 

Nebraska’s matches vs Michigan this week will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM.  Thursday’s match coverage begins at 6:30 and Friday’s coverage begins at 5:30 on the Huskers Sports Network.
