Nebraska track and field wins 15 events at Texas Tech meet

LUBBOCK, Texas — Nebraska won 15 event titles at the Texas Tech Corky/Crofoot Shootout Friday as both the men and women finished second in the team races.

The Husker men finished with 206.5 points, while the women had 200 points. Texas Tech’s men (213.5 points) and women (218) won both competitions.

In the field, Brittni Wolczyk won the women’s javelin with a throw of 166-6 and Cody Walton won the men’s competition with a season-best 226-5.

Nick Percy won the discus with a throw of 188-4 and finished first in the hammer throw with a mark of 219-3.

On the track, Judi Jones won the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 10:40.72, a personal best. Peter Spinks made it a sweep of the 3,000 steeplechases by winning the men’s event in 9:14.56.

Antoine Lloyd won the men’s 110 hurdles with a season-best 13.65, and Sam Bransby took the men’s 400 meters in a season-best 46.95.
