Nebraska softball allows 10 unanswered runs in loss to Gophers

MINNEAPOLIS — Nebraska gave up 10 unanswered runs and committed four errors while falling 10-1 to Minnesota on Friday.

Nebraska took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after a passed ball allowed Alyvia Simmons to score.

Minnesota scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead and added three runs each in the second and third innings to put the game away.

Husker starter Kaylan Jablonski lasted just two innings for her shortest outing of the season. She gave up six earned runs on six hits and recorded one strikeout.

Laura Barrow hit 2 for 3 to lead the Huskers (30-15, 8-6 Big Ten) at the plate.

Nebraska continues its series at Minnesota at 1 p.m. Saturday.
