LINCOLN — Left-hander Connor Curry will miss an “extended period” of time after reinjuring his surgically repaired elbow, coach Darin Erstad said.

The sophomore from Lincoln Southeast left during the fourth inning of Sunday’s game against Baylor after experiencing arm discomfort.

“He’s got a significant injury and we’re going to have to just kind of take our time here and see how it plays out,” Erstad said.

Curry had been trending toward a weekend starting spot. He holds a 7.88 ERA in eight innings. His 2017 season was cut short when he broke a toe after dropping a weight on his foot. He underwent Tommy John surgery that fall and missed all of last year.
