According to the Omaha World Herald, Nebraska has added its third transfer football player from its weekend of visits. Former Arizona State defensive back Tommi Hill posted on Twitter Monday the words “New Chapter”. The OWH reported that a source familiar with Hill’s recruiting process confirmed that Hill is committed to Nebraska. Hill had nine tackles last season for ASU. The 6’1″ 205 pounder was mostly a backup cornerback through 11 games as a true freshman and is expected to play the same position at Nebraska. Nebraska was a finalist to land Hill out of Orlando’s Edgewater High School. The defender was a top 200 national prospect coming out of high school and connected with Nebraska defensive backs coach Travis Fisher and now helps fill a need for the Huskers as Cam Taylor-Britt will be leaving for the NFL draft.
Speaking of adding depth to Nebraska’s secondary, the Omaha World Herald reported Tuesday that Nebraska has added its first junior college commit of the 2022 class. Safety DeShon Singleton of Huthinson Kansas Community College committed to the Huskers on Tuesday. The three star safety was a midweek guest in Lincoln before officially visiting Kansas State during the weekend. According to the OWH, his other power five conference offer came from Kansas. Originally from Greensburg, Louisiana, he had 22 tackles, two interceptions and two pass breakups in nine games for Huthinson this season. A full academic qualifier, Singleton has four years to play three and can join Nebraska for the spring semester.
