Nebraska basketball nonconference schedule released, will host Doane for exhibition

LINCOLN — The first 10 games of the Fred Hoiberg era at Nebraska are set.

The school announced the 2019-2020 nonconference slate on Wednesday morning. The season will tip on Oct. 30 in an exhibition against Doane College. Nebraska will then host UC Riverside, Southern Utah, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Southern from Nov. 5 to Nov. 22.

The first road action for Nebraska will be at the Caymen Islands Classic from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27. There, Nebraska will play at least twice against the field of seven.  Colorado State, South Florida, Loyola-Chicago, New Mexico State, Old Dominion, George Mason and Washington State are also in the tournament.

The nonconference finishes up with trip to Georgia Tech for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, then up Interstate 80 against Creighton on Dec. 7. Nebraska will then host two home games against North Dakota and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
