Nebraska baseball postpones home opener and moves Baylor series to Texas

Nebraska baseball has pushed back its home opener due to the freezing weather forecasted for Lincoln over the next couple weeks.

The Huskers announced Monday they have postponed the March 5 game against UNO, and the two teams will work on scheduling a make-up date. That game was supposed to be Nebraska’s first game this season at Haymarket Park.

Additionally, NU has moved the three-game series with Baylor scheduled for March 8-10 from Lincoln to Waco, Texas. The athletic department will issue refunds for all tickets purchased through the Nebraska ticket office.

With these changes, the Huskers’ home opener is now scheduled to take place March 13 at 1:35 p.m. against North Dakota State.

Nebraska (3-5) returns to action this weekend in Frisco, Texas, against Texas Tech, Sam Houston State and Mississippi State in the Frisco College Baseball Classic.
