Kaylan Jablonski does it all for Nebraska softball in victory over Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Kaylan Jablonski pitched a five-hitter and scored a run as Nebraska beat Indiana 2-1 Sunday to take two of three in the Big Ten series.

Indiana (14-23, 7-2) entered the weekend unbeaten in league play.

Jablonski (19-8) walked two and struck out four while giving up one run on an RBI double in the second inning. The senior from Omaha Skutt also had two of NU’s six hits.

The Huskers (27-13, 5-4) tied the game in the fourth inning, when Jablonski led off with a single, advanced to third on Madi Unzicker’s double and scored on Ally Riley’s sacrifice fly.

Unzicker was stranded at third after Tara Trainer struck out Lexey Kneib and Rylee Unzicker to end the inning.

Nebraska scored the winning run in the fifth inning. Gina Metzler led off with a single, moved to second when Alyvia Simmons drew a walk, advanced to third on Tristen Edwards’ foul out and scored on a throwing error.

The Huskers return home for a Tuesday doubleheader against Iowa.
