Huskers Sign Top Prep High Jumper

The Nebraska track and field team added to its already talented signing class on Monday with the addition of Tyus Wilson. The Sterling, Kan., native owns a personal best of 7-1 in the high jump, the top mark by a men’s high school jumper in 2020. Wilson is just one of three prep jumpers in the country to clear seven feet in the high jump this year.

Wilson cleared 7-1 at the 2020 West Coach AAU Jr Olympic Games, winning the competition. He won the Kansas 3A state title as a freshman in 2018 with a jump of 6-6 and repeated as state champion in 2018 with a mark of 6-10. The 2020 Kansas state meet was canceled due to COVID-19.
