Husker Basketball Player Keisei Tominaga Helps Japan Reach Asia Cup Quarterfinals

Husker junior guard Keisei Tominaga has helped Japan to its first Asia Cup quarterfinal appearance since 2015 following a 102-81 win over the Philippines.

Tominaga, who is averaging 10.8 points per game in four games for Japan, played 13 minutes off the bench in helping Japan to its first win over the Philippines since 2003. His best performance in the tournament was a 23-point effort against Syria, where he hit 7-of-11 3-pointers.

Japan will take on Australia in the quarterfinals tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m. (CT). Australia is ranked third in the world and is the defending Asia Cup champion.
