Former Husker Brady Schnell had his best career PGA Tour finish Sunday as he tied for 12th at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
The Millard West graduate shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 12-under. Graeme McDowell won the event at 18-under, one stroke ahead of Chris Stroud and Mackenzie Hughes.
Schnell, whose previous best finish was a tie for 28th, was in third place midway through Sunday’s round as he made three birdies and an eagle on the first seven holes to get to 14-under. But he made nine pars and two bogeys the rest of the way.
Omaha’s Ryan Vermeer shot a 71 Sunday and finished in a tie for 69th place.
