SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Four Nebraska track and field athletes and the 1,600 relay team qualified for nationals in Saturday’s NCAA West preliminary round, giving the Huskers a total of ten qualifiers.

Landon Bartel, Antoine Lloyd, Kaiwan Culmer and Luke Siedhoff all punched their tickets to the NCAA outdoor championships, which take place in Eugene, Ore., from June 6-9.

Bartel finished in a nine-way tie for 10th place in the men’s high jump, with a clearance of 6 feet, 11 inches. He advanced in a jump-off as the nine athletes competed for the final three spots.

Lloyd and Siedhoff both qualified in the 110-meter hurdles.

Siedhoff, a sophomore from Crete, finished second in his heat at 13.72 seconds. Lloyd (13.70) followed with another second-place heat finish, qualifying for nationals for the third time in his career.

Culmer finished eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 52-0.

The 1,600 relay team, composed of Andy Neal, Ty Moss, Moujtaba Mohammed and Sam Bransby, finished third in the heat — earning an automatic qualification — with a time of 3:05.93.
