The Nebraska volleyball team got the season off to a successful start over the weekend with a straight set win over Colgate and a 3 sets to 1 win over Kansas State during the Husker Invitational. Nebraska coach John Cook met with media Monday for his weekly press conference. Coach Cook said he was pleased with the overall performance from this past weekend.
Coach Cook talked a little strategy during the press conference discussing the thought of utilizing a “6-2” to help highlight the hitting and attacking power of this year’s team.
Coach Cook also announced that All America setter Nicklin Hames, who has been nursing an ankle injury, is back at practice this week and that they will test her to see if she can be ready for this weekend’s action. Nebraska will host the Ameritas Challenge this weekend at the Devaney Center. Nebraska will play Omaha on Friday at 11 a.m. then play Georgia later Friday at 6 p.m. Nebraska will wrap up the Challenge on Saturday when the play Arizona State at 6 p.m.
