ORLANDO – Former Bishop Neumann quarterback Noah Vedral tweeted his intentions to transfer from the University of Central Florida to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Tuesday afternoon.
“To my family at UCF: I will forever be grateful to have been a part of this amazing school, team and season,” Vedral said on the social media site. “I love you, my brothers. To my family in Nebraska: I’m coming home. #GBR”
Vedral’s transfer didn’t come without a little drama though. According to Knights247, UCF tried to block a transfer to the Huskers and to any other American Athletic Conference team. The Wahoo-native was listed on NU’s website as a student Tuesday afternoon
A three-star prospect out of high school, Vedral served as a backup to McKenzie Milton this season. The true freshman threw for 276 yards on 22-29 passing and a touchdown. He added 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground.
The 6’2″ 190-pounder originally committed to the Knights before his senior season in June 2016. He finished his prep career with 4,561 passing yards, 2,250 rushing yards and 77 total touchdowns.
UCF defeated Auburn in the Peach Bowl, 34-27, on Jan. 1 to finish the season 13-0.
