Islanders Dominate Bellevue East

GRAND ISLAND – Grand Island put in a dominant performance on Friday night.

The Islanders downed Bellevue East 49-7 to improve to 5-3 on the season.

Cole Evans opened up the scoring with a 13-yard run in the first quarter. The junior next hit Keyin Wentling for a 20-yard score to make it 14-0. The quarterback next scattered for a 39-yard score before Timo Sikes rushed one in from 13-yards out. Evan hit John Reilly for a 3-yard score to give the Islanders a 35-0 lead going into halftime.

Evans accounted for his fifth TD by hitting Will Nordhues on a 43-yard strike in the third quarter to make it 42-0. In the fourth quarter Carson Cahoy tossed a 20 yard pass.

The Islanders travel to Lincoln Southeast on Friday afternoon.
