Omaha, NE.—It's been a while but two Nebraska governors, Republicans Dave Heineman and Kay Orr, used the State Treasurer's office as a stepping stone to the highest office in Nebraska. No one is predicting the same for either John Murante or Taylor Royal, at least not yet, but they have the advantage of no Democratic opponent in the fall—the winner of the May 15th primary is in effect the next Treasurer.
