Thousands of Marijuana Edibles Found on I-80, Two Men Arrested near Grand Island

HAMILTON COUNTY, Neb. - Over 4,000 items of illegal drugs were found in a vehicle on I-80 over the weekend, according to police. The Nebraska State Patrol arrested 29 year-old Jonathan Rodriguez and 29-year-old David Batchelder, both of California, on several felony drug charges. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, an SUV was stopped for running a stop sign after exiting a I-80 on mile marker 324, near Giltner, southeast of Grand Island. Police say they had probable cause to search the vehicle and found 4,100 different illegal items such as THC edibles, THC liquid and a small amount of cocaine. Both men were charged with possession of hash oil, possession with intent to deliver, marijuana possession-over 1 ounce/less than a pound, possession of drug paraphernelia and no Drug Tax Stamp. Rodriguez was also charged with possession of cocaine. Both men were housed at the Hamilton County jail.
