Storm Triggers Tornado Warnings From Bern, Kan., to Hamburg

DAWSON – Tornadoes were spotted near Bern, Kan.,  Highway 75 at Dawson and east of Auburn Tuesday as line of thunderstorms moved northeast at 45 mph.

A tornado warning was issued for Pawnee and Richardson counties shortly after 7 p.m.

Nebraska State Patrol troopers reported a tornado near DuBois at 7:23 p.m. and observed a tornado cross Highway 75 near Dawson. Inch-sized hail was also reported there.

About 30 minutes later, Nemaha County storm spotters reported a tornado moving up Highway 75.

Tornado sirens were sounded in Auburn and a tornado was confirmed seven miles east of town at 8:10 p.m.

The storm triggered tornado warnings for several other counties until losing strength north of Riverton, Iowa.

Richardson and Nemaha county emergency management did not receive reports of damage Tuesday evening.

8:37 p.m., Atchison County warning until 8:45 p.m. Strongest portion of thunderstorm over Riverton, Iowa. Storm moving east at 45 mph.

8:29 p.m. Tornado warning until 9 p.m. for Fremont County, Iowa. Severe thunderstorm spotted over Hamburg. Tornado producing storm.

At 8:17 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing tornadoes located three miles southeast of Peru, 16 miles west of Tarkio, moving north at 35 mph.

At 8:10 p.m. tornado confirmed at 7 miles east of Auburn, tracking northeast at 45 mph. Brownville and Watson, Mo., in line of storm.

At 8:07 warning was issued for eastern Nemaha County. Tornado sirens sounded in Auburn.

at 7:55 p.m., Nemaha County storm spotters report funnel cloud moving up Highway 75, tracking north.

Tornado confirmed  near Auburn moving north toward the Brownville and Nemaha area.

7:45 p.m. Inch-sized hail reported in Dawson

7:23 p.m. Nebraska State Patrol reported tornado visible from near Highway 105 and Highway 8 near DuBois.

7:07 p.m., severe thunderstorm over Axtell and northwest of Seneca, Kan.

Cities impacted include Pawnee City, Table Rock, Humboldt and other locations, including Dawson, Highway 75, Camp Cornhusker and Du Bois.
