Sparks Grants Awarded

VERDIGRE - Six small communities in Nebraska are getting brought into the future. Thanks to a grant from the Nebraska Library Commission, Bancroft Bayard, Genoa, Imperial, Verdigre and Wymore are installing high-speed internet hotspots into community libraries. In order to celebrate the grant, Governor Pete Ricketts traveled to Verdigre to visit with the people benefiting from the hotspot and address questions and concerns people had about the state. In many of these towns, the local school is the only place to get free internet access. This grant is looking to change that, by making more accessible in the community. The high-speed internet assess will be installed for one year to measure the reach and use the hot spots provides, then a more permanent solution will be installed.
