Sheriff Places Giant Order For Girl Scout Cookies

PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County Sheriff Bill Brueggemann is big customer for Girl Scout cookies. Each year, the sheriff randomly selected an unsuspecting Girl Scout from Cass County and places a cookie order on behalf of inmates. This year, he called a 12-year-old Girl Scout from Conestoga School. The sheriff said she seemed baffled when she asked the caller how many Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies he wanted. “Did you say six boxes”? The caller replied with “No, I said sixty boxes”. Elizabeth Dennis, a cadet level scout with her troop put on her smile and put her marketing skills to work as she made her sales pitch. She ended up selling the sheriff a total of 220 boxes of cookies. Sheriff Brueggemann said “buying cookies from the Girl Scouts is a good way for the inmates to contribute to a good cause.”
