Shelby Man to be Sentenced on 2 Felony Drunk Driving Related Convictions

DAVID CITY, Neb. - A Shelby man will be sentenced next week on two felony drunk driving related charges. 40-year-old Troy Engel was convicted of his third DUI and driving without ignition interlock in October. Court records say Engel was arrested after fleeing from a Butler County Sheriff traffic stop in March. He was eventually caught and arrested inside a residence. Engel, who received two DUI's during a one-week period in 2014, was required to be using ignition interlock in his truck. He was unable to complete a breath test at the jail, but blood tests showed he blew over 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit. He was charged with driving while revoked, obstructing police and resisting arrest, but those charges were dropped in a plea deal. Engel will be sentenced on December 5th.
