Samaritan’s Purse Helps Flood Victims in Valley

VALLEY, NE — A faith-based non-profit his lending their resources to helping homeowners in Nebraska clean up after the floods.

Samaritan’s Purse staff and resources arrived in Valley the end of March…back then it was to help with food and shelter… now residents are returning to their homes.

Assistant program director Leroy Wentz says the situation is tough, but the support Samaritan’s Purse provides, lifts the burden off people’s shoulders.

“Sure it’s difficult to help people in need, but it’s also a blessing.  It’s a blessing to see the hope you bring to them,” Wentz said.  “It’s a blessing to see their countenance change with 10-20 volunteers and suddenly the mess the storm created goes away in a matter of hours.”

According to a news release, Samaritan’s Purse sent a disaster relief unit and supply trailer after assessments of the hardest hit areas in the state.

Samaritan’s Purse has been monitoring the situation across Nebraska since the flooding started and will continue to provide relief where it is needed.
